I got these for my Subaru Forester. While I have not used them yet, they appear to be very sturdy. In addition to being less costly than the dealer's option, they also have a locking device to reduce the possibility of theft. In hindsight regarding installation, it probably would have been a lot easier to set the width first before tightening the roof racks to the roof side bars. You see once the bars are in place, I and my friend found it very difficult to get the Allen wrench into the "width adjuster's screw holes"' which are on the underside of the roof rack connector. You'll see what I mean when you try to get the Allen wrench in the holes which are next to impossible to see when the roof rack is in place. Other than that, it was pretty easy to install. Both racks are clearly marked. It does help to have second person assist you.

This is for use on a Subaru Forester Limited 2023. We only use these when needed, easy to put on and off. But keeping them on all the time is a no go, you can definitely hear the wind when these are on. It blocks our sunroof view anyway. I’m sure the stock ones would too. But the noise is what makes me take off a star. For the money they are worth it. But if you need to use them often then I would say try something else. It’s rare we need them so that’s why we decided to keep them.

As a seasoned writer with a critical eye, I must say that the crossbars I received for my Subaru Forester were nothing short of disappointing. Despite being advertised as a perfect fit for my vehicle, they simply did not live up to the expectations.

First of all, the installation process was a nightmare. The instructions were convoluted and unclear, making it nearly impossible to put the crossbars on correctly. It took several frustrating hours of trial and error to finally get them in place, and even then, they didn't seem to be as secure as they should have been.

But the real problem came when I tried to use them. The crossbars were supposed to be able to hold my cargo securely, but they failed to do so. Even with careful packing and tying down, my belongings were still shifting and jostling around on top of my car. It was a nerve-wracking experience, and I couldn't help but feel like the crossbars were going to fail at any moment.

Had no 'real' issues on the installation BUT - one of the screw heads (internal hex key) stripped out on me as I was attaching one of the x4 screws down that hold the 2 bars to the rails. I ended up cutting a X pattern grove in the head to finish attaching that screw to the rail attach point. I used a Phillips screw driver to finish that installation point. X2 'spare' screws would have been nice. I followed some of the You Tube videos, as well. Pay attention to the TORQUE values. I used a 6.5 inch distance between fwd and aft rail attach points. No noise on highway. Have yet to attach anything to the rail structure. That's next.
